Palazzo degli Archi is an historical residence located in the very heart of Ragusa Ibla. Ragusa lies in the Val di Noto, an area of outstanding natural beauty and cultural importance. Over-looking a stunning river valley, the hotel’s dramatic location will indeed leave an impression on the visitor’s memory and contribute to making an unforgettable stay in Ragusa Ibla.

The palace spans four floors. On the ground floor, the oldest part of the building, there is a restaurant and lounge bar. These rooms feature lovely Lancet arches and vaults typical of the medieval period. According to Ragusa’s Historic Town Centre Committee this part of the palace dates back to the early 15th century and the original structure is even more ancient, dating back to around 1260. Over the years the palace has undergone major reconstruction, notably after the 1693 earthquake, which destroyed several cities in the Val di Noto.

Whilst maintaining its distinctive character, skilful restoration work has transformed the palace into a fascinating hotel. Care has been taken to preserve the traditional exposed stone-work on the exterior of the building as well as to restore the distinguished colours of the early 20th century. Inside, sophisticated and elegant design evokes the atmosphere of a genuine Sicilian aristocratic palace. The decoration includes majolica, wrought-iron, ceramics and a superb Cà Rezzonico chandelier in the entrance hall.

Our highly qualified and skilled staff will ensure every guest receive courteous, enthusiastic and discrete service.
